Finally an update, my boy is ONE!

Well it's totes been forevsies since I've updated. My bad!

Zane is 13 months old now. Can you believe it?
This has, without a doubt, been the best 13 months of my life.
Ever. For sure.
Photo Credit to Jennifer Rice Photography.

Look at those eyebrows! He gets them from his dad.
He makes the best expressions. He's not big on smiling on demand (ie for pictures), but he's always giving us those funny looks and it makes up for it. (and of course we catch some smiles, too).

He's a thinker. He's curious. He's funny. He's sweet. He's tough.
Me? I'm just lucky.

I mean look at my amazing family..

Anyway. We're doing really good. I'm gonna throw out some facts, mostly for future reference for myself. He had 8 teeth before his birthday, the last two came in around 10 months. He did a lot of army crawling before he did any real crawling, which finally happened around 8-9 months. He started pulling himself up shortly after. He took his very first step on May 30, but they were few and far between until a couple weeks after his birthday. He still crawls most of the time, but does a whole lot of walking too. He still can't stand without assistance but once he's up he's off!
At his one year checkup, he weighed 21lbs and 12oz and was 29 3/4 inches long!

He loves to dance. And he does it in the most adorable way. I can't get enough of his moves!
His favorite show is Squeak on the Baby First channel. He just loves Tog, Toot and Tizzy Mouse and when the theme song comes on it can almost always calm him down if he's upset. I have a few episodes recorded just for that. ;)
He loves Zoey, he thinks she's hilarious and wants to eat her fur. We don't allow this, but he tries anyway. She is very tolerant of him, which we're thankful for.
He loves bananas and blueberries, beans, elbow mac with marinara, and veggie straws.
He loves to be outside.
He loves bath time.
He loves older children who love to play with him.
He loves cars and any toy he can push around the floor, walking or crawling. But mostly he loves things that aren't toys. Remote controls, sunglasses, and he loved my phone the few times he's gotten his hands on it.

I nursed far longer than I ever intended to. Less than a week after his birthday, I cut it down to only night nursing. About 2 weeks ago I stopped night nursing.
When I quit day nursing, it was because I realized I could. He was able to nap without nursing, so one day after his morning nap I just decided I wasn't gonna nurse till bedtime. It went well.
When I quit altogether, it was similar. Bed time was approaching and I just decided I wouldn't nurse. It really wasn't as difficult as I expected. I guess we were both pretty ready for it. Don't get me wrong, there are still times it would be so much easier if I could just stick a boob in his mouth. That almost always solved his problems. But without nursing, I've noticed that we've got a better routine going, and he doesn't wake up as much through the night. He's still perfectly healthy, and I'm able to get more sleep and most of all- my body is mine again, finally, after almost 2 years! I no longer have to think about how what I put in my body will affect Zane. I can drink if I want to drink! I can be away from him for an entire day if I want to be. Hasn't happened yet, but I'm thinking that's not far away.

I mentioned a routine.
Now its not exact, but I can't expect too much, can I?
It goes something like this...
We wake up between 6 and 7.
Breakfast followed by playtime or whatever.
Good snack around 10.
He takes a nap around 10:30 till about noon.
Lunch. More playtime and whatnot.
Another nap around 4 till around 5:30.
More playtime and such.
His dinner is between 6:30 and 7:30.
Then he gets a bath.
And he falls asleep between 8:30 and 9:30.
This is where it varies, because he used to still wake up around midnight, but lately he's be sleeping all the way till 4. At that time, I give him applesauce and we watch cartoons in the recliner and we both go back to sleep. Sometimes I put him in bed and get back in my own bed, sometimes I don't. When I was nursing, I would bring him to our bed early in the morning like that, and sometimes I miss sleeping with him. So I don't mind a couple hours snoozing on the recliner with him.

Sometimes I have to fight to get him to nap (like this morning.. omg!), sometimes he goes down easily and quietly by himself.

Obviously there are days our routine is shot. Those days are typically called grocery shoping days.
Thankfully Zane is The Incredible Sleeping Baby (thats his official hashtag). He sleeps pretty much the entire way to town, and usually takes a little nap sometime while we're out. Either between stores or in Wal Mart. I've got some great pictures of my shopping cart sleeper. Then amazingly, he sleeps the whole way home. He's incredible! And he may go to bed a little later that night, but not much. I'm so lucky!

We also do things here in Bagdad. We have a Mommy Group every other Tuesday morning where we have a babysitter for all the kids and its usually 7 or 8 of us mamas in the other room doing a craft or playing a game and just talking. Its a nice little break from the kids, and Zane loves playing with all the other kids, and I've made some friends out of the deal!

Every Thursday is story time at the library. He gets pretty restless during story time, not gonna lie, but after about 15 minutes of stories, we get some playtime with the other kids. Of course he always wants to roam around the library outside of the kids section, so he keeps me on my toes!
We also have the occasional park play date, but its been too hot to do that often. The pool closes soon, but we've made a handful of trips to the pool this summer and he's enjoyed it more and more each time. The first time he was very unsure about it. The last time he had a blast! We put him in a little floatie "boat" so we can push him around and he can splash.

Most of our days are spent primarily at home. I'm so lucky that I'm able to be a stay at home mama and just focus on raising my little boy. I can't imagine not knowing when he eats, poops, and sleeps. These are the things my life revolves around. He spends some time playing by himself, and some time demanding my attention. I'm happy either way.
Most of the time, lol. Of course there are times I wish I could just crawl back in bed.

Clint amazes me on a pretty regular basis. He is a fantastic Daddy.
Like, really.
He loves his boy so much. He would do anything for him, and for me.
He doesn't change a lot of diapers or give him a lot of meals. But he'll come home after working all day and cook dinner (not every day, of course, I'm a better wife than that). He lets me get away with a messy house. He has this almost annoying way of calming Zane down when I can't and getting him to sleep. I don't know how he does it. He's fun and silly and makes Zane (and I) laugh all the time. They don't get a ton of time just the two of them, but I am 100% confident in him when those times do come. A lot of moms can't say that. I know he'll meet all his needs, even if he may do things differently than I would.
He's just the best husband and dad. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Again I say, I'm so lucky.

I think I've covered just about everything, except myself.

I do get some "me" time, believe it or not.
I go to the gym just about every week day, and some Saturdays. When I'm at the gym Zane is either with Clint or in day care. I'm not losing weight at this point, but I'm about to be making some changes and hopefully I'll start dropping some weight. But this isn't a weight post, so moving on...
I play Bunco! Its so much fun! I play with the same girls from the moms group and the library, and sometimes a few others. I love that adult time where we can just have fun and be silly and throw things at each other! ;) Of course there's always at least a few children running around.

When Zane naps I used to do housework, but now I try to do that while he's awake so I can enjoy my "me" time. I either scrapbook or get caught up on my DVR (while folding laundry, because that's almost impossible with Zane "helping"). Right now he's in bed and I'm using my "me" time to finally update my blog. :)

And I think that about covers it. I mean I've been typing for a good two hours, surely I didn't leave anything out.

Hopefully it won't be so long before I update again.

Shushybye and Goodnight!
(I may have been watching too much Baby First ;) )

Mommy Babbles & Catching Up!

I really want to update more and better document my wonderful new life...
But who has the time?!
LOL
Actually I do have the time, but I guess I just don't usually feel like spending that time typing away.

To start I wanted to talk about my parenting fears! I think a couple months ago I mentioned on here that I was nervous about being a parent, being a good mom, knowing what to do.
Well.. now that he's here, and even from the very first time I held him...
Fears squashed.
Even in the hospital, I surprised myself by knowing what to do. Knowing how to sway and pat his butt to calm him down. How did I know that? Because he's my baby, I guess. He's caused me very little stress. Maybe he is just a good baby, but maybe I'm also a good mom. And maybe those motherly instincts really are just awesome. I'm just happy that I handle him well, and I don't freak out about things, and I know that I'm doing well with him.

There are things that freak me out a little, don't get me wrong. Like the noises he makes... sometimes it sounds like he's having trouble breathing. Hate that!

Anyway, he is amazing, and I really do love being a mommy.

Before Zane, especially toward the end of the pregnancy, I was used to getting 8-12 hours of sleep a night. Seriously. The last month I often slept 11-12 hours. So having a newborn and having to wake up throughout the night to care for him... I was nervous! But, again, from the very beginning with him, it hasn't been a problem. The first two nights with him, in the hospital, I didn't get much sleep between him and the nurses, but I was fine. I was able to be awake and capable of taking care of him and doing whatever I needed to do.  Then bringing him home and not getting good solid sleep and still I'm able to do what I need to do. I do nap with him at least once a day when we don't have to go to town. Usually after nursing. That always makes me sleepy. Its just amazing how the body adjusts!

And nursing. At first it was kinda stressful. I couldn't figure out how to hold him or get him to latch on and it hurt and it was just frustrating! But I got past that after a few days and by now I've got it down! My left nipple has stimulation issues though and sometimes I can't get him to nurse on that side. It seems like it has to be really full for it to work, or he has to get a REALLY strong latch, which usually hurts! But we get it to work, and if we can't get it on that side, the right side is always ready! :) So overall nursing is going well! When I go to town, I generally nurse in the backseat of the truck with a blanket over the window. Yesterday I had to nurse in public for the first time at Ellie's birthday party at Peter Piper Pizza. It felt so weird and was awkward! That will take some getting used to.. hopefully I don't have to do it often!

Diapers and spit up don't gross me out at all. When its someone else's kid, it grosses me out, but with mine it doesn't bother me at all. And this boy loooooves to pee on me. Someday I'll learn! Its amazing how much pee can come out of such a little guy too. It just gets all over the place... me, him, the couch, etc. Earlier today he managed to get some on his face. D'oh!

I'm pretty much in jammies all the time. I mean I get dressed to go places, but if I'm home its generally gym pants and a tank top. When I do get dressed, its usually still maternity bottoms or my new size 18 shorts that I had to buy. :/  I don't have many shirts that I really like on me right now. BUT I'm only 27lbs up from when I got pregnant which is 35lbs up from my lowest weight. If I lose 30 I'll be under 200 again. I've done it before and I'll do it again! Dr. O believes it'll come off with little effort. He says to keep nursing, go for walks and "kinda" watch what I eat. (lol, seriously!) and I should keep losing. If I don't I guess we'll reevaluate. Hopefully he's right and it comes right off. Fingers crossed!!

The 4th of July was Zane's first holiday and we had the best day! It started with the parade where we sat with Clint's brother in law and his kids. The Bagdad parade is nothing to write home about, but it was fun! Lots of candy being thrown out at the kids and it was just really nice to be out in the sun after being on bed rest and kinda cooped up for so long! And it was great to have Zane out and about, showing him off! We went home for an hour or so then it was time to go down and check out the big trucks! Every year they pull out a haul truck and a front end loader on the 4th for the community to get pictures with. I think it'll be fun to watch Zane grow in comparison to these trucks every year! Then we went to the firehouse for the BBQ, then home for a few hours... yay nap! At around 6 we went back out. There was a street fair with music, food and games. We ran into lots of people each of us knew. I got to meet some of his friends/coworkers and he got to meet some of the people I know from around town, and everyone was just ooo-ing and ahh-ing over our little guy. Love it!! He's just such a good cute baby and I just love showing him off! Its weird because I've never been a big show off, never been a big bragger. I don't flaunt the good things that I have or try to make people jealous. But when it comes to Zane..... be jealous!!! LOL He's the best thing I've ever done, ever had. I'm damn proud of him and I'll always want to show him off and brag about him. So deal with it! :-p After the street fair we got to watch the fireworks. It was the first time Bagdad's done fireworks in years, the first time I've got to see them here, and they were really nice. Again I'm gonna brag about my boy because he was awake the whole time and just watched them. The sound didn't phase him at all. All in all a great day!! It was nice being out as a family. Clint usually isn't into town festivites but maybe having Zane changed that because even he enjoyed it and kept saying that they should do stuff like that more often. So hopefully we'll start going to all the town things together! :)

Well I that's all I can think of for now. I should mention I typed this up over the course of 2 days. LOL.
I'll try to update more, and next time with pictures maybe!

What a busy week or two its been!
Where to start?
I spent the week before the baby shower preparing my house for mom's visit and getting all the things needed for the shower. We also received our stroller and bedding in the mail that week! Woot woot!

On Friday (the 26th) Clint and I went to Phoenix to pick up Mom. But since her flight didn't land till 8:45, we had scheduled a 3d ultrasound for that afternoon! The ultrasound was at two and it was so exciting to get to see him in 3d and not so skeleton like, like the ultrasounds we get at the doctors office!
He's got the chubbiest little cheeks!! He's gonna be a big boy!! But a cute one! :) He was moving around the whole time! The umbilical cord was kinda in his face, blocking the ultrasound a bit, but that's alright. He's DEFINITELY a boy, btw! :p His legs were up over his head, and he's not head down yet. Of course this was non-diagnostic so they don't tell us anything like that. I'd love to know how big he is and things like that, but they don't tell you. But we could see his heart beating strong, so that's a good thing for sure!!

After the ultrasound we had lots of time to kill! Clint's been wanting to go to a Bass Pro Shop for years, so we finally did that. The one we went to had a restaurant inside, so we had a late lunch there. Then we took our time walking around the giant store, checking things out. We picked out a few things for Zane. I spent probably half the time sitting on a bench, I can't lie. I was getting tired and achy and had no desire to watch him drool over fishing stuff. lol! We were there for about 3 hours including lunch, so you can't blame me! But it was alright, I had a book in my purse! Clint got a few things he'd been wanting, so that was good.

Then we headed toward the airport, I think. Oh we went by Wal Mart first. Mom's flight got in about 15 minutes early, so she was getting off the plane while we were approaching the airport, we beat her to the greeting area though! :) We stopped at a Chick-Fil-A for a late dinner then headed home, chatting the whole way.

Saturday didn't seem long enough! Mom made breakfast, we relaxed, got ready for the day. Had lunch with Clint's Mom, sister & her family at the diner and then his Mom and niece came over to visit for a while after. The day just got away from us! We did some baby shower prep and planning but weren't as prepared as I'd hoped to be by the end of the day, but oh well! It was good that Mom got to spend a lot of time with my MIL. That doesn't happen often and I feel like they really got a good chance to get to know each other this time, and they seemed to get along great, so that's wonderful!

Sunday was shower day! We were running kinda behind, but everything turned out great! The wind was a little much, but what can ya do? There was a big 24 hour softball tournament at the park the day before, so the park was kinda a mess.. the trash cans were overflowing and the porta potties needed attention. :/  But other than that it was very nice!! I had a decent turn out and got a lot of great things and had a great time with my friends and family!

Here's some detail pictures. It was elephant themed, although not too heavily. LOL One of my best friends made the cutest diaper cake!! She actually made the little elephant on top- so cute!!! It'll be in his nursery for sure!

My good friend Ana makes these great keepsake items! Visit her Etsy shop here! She did so much for me, and its all so cute!! I especially LOVE the box. Its just so perfect for his nursery, and the colors are great! And she even put Zoey in the fishing boat with Zane! Too cute, and just perfect!! The mobile she made is her first ever mobile! I'm proud to have it! She's just so creative!!

Just a few group shots! Love the one of me with the Zane's Grandma and Nana!

Opening presents! My MIL made a whole bunch of blankets and hooded towels (bottom left). I wish she had an Etsy shop! My friend Jenn (the photographer) made the car seat cover with the little snakes! I picked out the fabric and she did a great job! I'll have a pic of it on the car seat soon, I'm sure!

The next day I had to take Mom back to the airport, but first we stopped and got the gifts from here! She wasn't gonna travel with them and wanted to make sure I got something I needed and wanted. So she got us the car seat and pack & play!! Love love love!! It feels good to finally have all of the big important things at our house! We've just got a few big things left, like the monitor!

I dropped her off around one, and then went to the mall and hit Carter's! I had been waiting till after the shower to do much shopping of my own, but I didn't get a ton of clothes at the shower, so I had a blast in Carter's. Although I did feel like I had no idea what I was doing! LOL No idea how much of the different items I needed, but I got him a lot of cute stuff, all on sale and a coupon on top of that, so I got a great deal!

That was Moday. Tuesday was a day at home, cleaning up some of the baby shower clutter and such. I was tired, needed an easy day for sure!

Wednesday I went to Prescott for a girls night in, and had a great time hanging out with my friends, just chatting and stuff! It's been a while since all 5 of us have been together! I spend the night and Thursday morning I did some shopping... Got Zane's mattress and some other things. Then I went to Robin's house to go through hand-me-downs. She has two boys, 1 and 3 ish and they've had lots of clothes, of course! My oh my what a big pile of clothes I came home with!! LOL Since I don't know what I'm doing, I took pretty much everything that was seasonal.. meaning no long sleeve newborn and 0-3 clothes. I think I came home with three trash bags full. Yowza!! Thanks Auntie Robin and Garrett & Blaine! She also had some other play things and a boppy and I can't even remember what else for us!

The next day was back at work. Clint's supposed to be working on the nursery furniture. Well he opened up the crib/changer boxes and couldn't find hardware anywhere. So I emailed the manufacturer but they're not there on weekends so I won't hear back till tomorrow at the earliest. Hopefully they'll just send us the hardware... it would be a pain to have to haul it all back to Wal Mart to make an exchange! So he started to look at the dresser yesterday and decided that he needed help. So last night after work I went in there and we started on it. Mostly I was gonna hand him things and hold things in place while he did the drilling.. But then I realized how much instructions can frustrate him. haha! So I took over the instructions and it was my job to figure out how things go, his job to put it together. We make a good team and didn't even get mad at each other in the process! We got it about half way done, we'll finish tomorrow unless I'm feeling really ambitious tonight (not likely). I'm looking forward to finally having SOMETHING put together in there! LOL And with the dresser, I'll be able to put all the clothes away and put some decor on top of it. It'll be nice!!

Well I think that's it! I'm gonna leave you with my latest belly shot! :)
(Ignore the mess behind me)

April 20, 2013

I never know the proper way to start a blog entry. Should I say "hello" or some other greeting or just start talking? Anyway...

Let's see what I have to say about the week...
I don't remember what I did Monday, so it must not have been very interesting. Probably some housework, laundry, sleep and TV.
Speaking of sleep I've been sleeping in till at least 10 most days.
What a lazy turd I am.
But they say to get it while you can, right? :D
Tuesday was a fun day- painting!!! Yep we finally got that nursery painted. It was fun too... we made it through the whole day without arguing. I'm not saying that because we often argue, because we really don't, especially lately. But doing something like that.. I guess I was prepared for an argument or two. But nope! It was just a good day. Although we didn't paint on each other which would have been fun. I said something about it and he let me know that would not be cool. I had to point out that we made a mess at our wedding with the cake and it was the best part of the whole thing. But he still wasn't going for it. Oh well!
Anyway here's a picture of the end product:
The accent wall is called "Aqua Waters" and the other is "Cancun Sand" which I was hoping would come out a little less white, but it works. I want to use some of the leftover Aqua Waters to paint a few things in the room, like shelves. And I am really hoping to find curtains that match pretty closely, or dye some. Fingers crossed!
Unfortunately, when we removed the tape, the color had bled through a lot. :/ Hey, we're beginners! So we're gonna have to fix that. Boooo!
Wednesday I shampooed carpets in there and finished going through that closet. That night Clint moved the desk that was in there (while painting we used it as a table) into the guest room/office/craft room. He probably spent 9-10 hours fishing that day. He went in the morning and evening.
Thursday since the desk was moved, I went through Clint's stuff that was still in it and got it all set up in its new space and just got things reorganized in there. I kinda like having the futon in there, a place to sit. Oh and I actually managed to scrapbook a page!!
Now except for Tuesday, none of my days were really that full, but man I'm so tired by the end of the day. It seems so silly!!

Then yesterday it was back to work. But it was the big fundraiser tournament, so it was a different kind of day. Good different! The course is closed to the public, but there were probably 50 people in and out throughout the day. Golfers and organizers. By the end of the game, everyone had loosened up with a few (dozen) beers and were very sociable. lol. They served hot dogs throughout the day and in the evening had catered burgers and tacos and stuff from the diner. There was an auction after the tournament and that was kinda fun to watch. It's a scholarship fundraiser, so everyone ends up paying a lot more than things are worth. A lot of the bidders are owners of companies though, so its a tax write off kinda thing I'm sure. After the auction people hung out for a while and continued drinking till the organizers packed up the coolers. I ended up staying an hour late since they were still here. I could have left, and would have if they weren't out by then. It was fun, met some new people, got to chat with a few I already knew. Good times!

Should I mention that I got hit on? I should. Because it was fun to get hit on, and he was cute. And apparently has a thing for pregnant women which I just can't wrap my head around. Obviously I didn't talk to him long. And yes I told Clint about it so that's why its okay to mention it here. :p

Oh and I've got some good news! Clint's promotion/raise went through!! He's been trying to get it for a while, and it finally went through yesterday. It's gonna give us so much more breathing room with me not working after Zane comes. What a relief!!!
I'm a happy girl!

I don't know why I've never shared any of my belly progression pix on my blog, but here's a comparison of some of them! Including the first and the most recent.
(Try to ignore that my arms and face have totally gotten bigger along with the belly.)
The chalk board has played a big role in his story, and will continue to! I'll use it at the baby shower somewhere and in my maternity pictures, and his newborn pictures. And of course it'll be hanging on his wall somewhere! Oh, and of course I'm gonna paint the trim the Aqua Waters color of the accent wall. :)

Alright I guess that's it from this girl! I probably won't update next weekend because my mom will be in town for the baby shower! Squeeeee! Can't wait!!!

March 2012

Maybe I should start naming by posts by the month that they're posted, because I generally only update once a month. It's a thought!

Well normally I start with weight talk, but I had too much fun on St. Patrick's Day to lead with anything else!!I went to Prescott to celebrate with two of my best friends, Jenn and Jess (a bunch of J names, as we realized every time we introduced ourselves to people. lol). First Jenn and I did some shopping at Ross where I found a shirt that I love, then we met up with Jessica for more shopping. Then went to Jenn's house to get ready. We went to dinner at Applebees at around 8. Apparently Applebees does karaoke on Saturday nights. So I rocked some Kesha! I've been wanting to do Tik Tok karaoke and I finally did and it was so much fun, even if I was a nervous wreck. BTW, I was the first to go for the night. I was so brave. From Applebees we headed downtown... where it was dark. Not just because it was night time, but because the power was out all over downtown. Totally creepy but cool! Thankfully, Matt's had backup power (making them one of the two bars with power that night), so they were letting people in and it got crowded fast! It took a little while for them to get lights and music going, but once they did the party was on! And before the lights and power, everyone was so friendly. It made for a great atmostphere. We made friends with a group or two of people, just had a great time talking and dancing and laughing.. and dancing. And dancing. Oh, and did I mention dancing? I have never been so dancey.... in public anyway. It was awesome. I was fearless. So not like me. But I look a kagillion times better than I have in the past and I guess I have a lot more confidence. And OMG more stamina!! Apparently I'm in pretty good shape because I danced for hours and didn't get tired. I outlasted my friends (who, if you don't know, are far from overweight). I wasn't even afraid to stay out there when they were cooling off. It was awesome. I can't express enough how much fun I had. I wanna do it again!! LOL And I think it's safe to say that we and our little group of friends for the night, were the life of the party. Seriously amazing night. Okay... I think I'm over it.. LOL.

So I had planned to come home Sunday, but it snowed and I got stuck because I'm an Arizona driver, not accustomed to driving in the snow. So I made it home Monday, with a cold. I can complain but the cold was so worth it after having so much fun.

On Tuesday I went into the staffing agency to talk about a part time, temporary job they had available at the golf course. While there, she also mentioned another job doing tours at the mine. So I took both of them! I have safety classes (MSHA) Monday-Wednesday, golf course training Thurs morning, another class Thursday afternoon. I get Friday off (which is grocery shopping day) and I work at the golf course on Saturday and Sunday. I might have the driving class the following Monday. And all of a sudden I have a life. But after the first week, it will calm down quite a bit. I'm not sure how many hours to expect other than the golf course will be Friday-Sunday until the person that I'm filling in for is able to return. I'm not sure how often I'll be doing tours, no more than 3 times a week, and likely not that often.

I have to admit, the tour guide job makes me nervous. I'll be representing the company and have to make a good impression on these people, have to drive well, and be super friendly and informative. I have A LOT to learn about the inner workings of the mine and the history of the town and all that. I really should be studying right now!! It's a totally different kind of job for me, and I am nervous, but also excited! It sounds really fun and it's a challenge and I don't often challenge myself but I believe I can do it. And if I can't, well, then I have to quit. No big deal, right? So there, I'm gonna take a chance and go for it! Woot!

Anyway it'll be nice to have a little extra money coming in so we can get out of this rut. Little by little we're getting there!

Okay I guess now I'll talk aboutthe weight stuff. So today I weighed in at 195.5lbs. Not bad but not great. I think my lowest is 193. I didn't go to the gym for over a week (sick) and today was my first day back, so hopefully I can start to drop the lbs again. But I haven't been doing great with food. Sigh. I need to get back on track but just can't find the motivation I guess. I mean I haven't gotten all my old habits back and I'm still trying and doing okay, I'm just not doing nearly as much as I could be. I'm not sure if I have a new set of measurements... I probably do. But I'm not gonna mess with that today. I do, however, have a pair of size 14 jeans on right now. :) That makes me happy!!

I am worried that working will interfere with my workouts. Next week with all the classes wil be tough but I'm gonna try to go to the gym right after classes, at least for a half hour. After that it should be part time enough that it's easy to fit in at least 4 trips to the gym a month. At least I hop so! I know that when I'm at the golf course on the weekends, I'll be skipping the gym. Partly because the gyms closed on Sundays and closes early on Saturdays. Maybe I'll try to go Friday evenings. I wish I was a morning person and could go before work. That's very unlikely though! Maybe if nothing else I'll walk to and from work. But I won't because I'll always be running late. IDK. But if I go Mon-Thurs, that's good. So any other work I get, I need to work the gym into that schedule. We'll see. I guess I can't really plan it yet because I don't know what to expect. I just REALLY don't want to gain that 80 lbs back. I really don't want to gain 10 back because that's how it starts right? Little by little. Nope.. no way... Not gonna happen with me. I will just have to find ways to fit my workouts in!!

I am thankful that I won't be working around food though. That would be a bad temptation. I'm sure I'll bring snacks to work but being away from fried food and donuts is a good thing!!

Well I think that's all that's on my mind at the moment. I'm so excited about going back to work and being around people again!! I've been in such a good mood ever since I found out! I'm sure I'll update soonish about my jobs!

Till next time....

Let's Go D-Backs!

I went to my first pro sports game on Thursday! We saw the Diamondbacks play the Rockies and it was so. much. fun!!! I was afraid I was gonna be bored and not get into it and just play with me phone the whole time, and never wanna go again. Now I'm not gonna say that I didn't play with my phone a lot, but it was all about the game (and a little about Idol)! I definitely got into it! We got there just as the game was starting and had dinner at Fridays, which overlooks the field (actually a really great view). Clint & his parents got ribs and I got their Jack Daniels chicken, which was soooo good!! More expensive than a normal Fridays, no doubt, but that was okay. We made our way to our seats... bottom level, row 10 and kinda near third base, but farther back. I think they were great seats! There's so much going on during the game that you don't see on TV. They have games, and they throw out T Shirts to the crowd, the mascot (who we got to meet (thanks to good elevator timing), his name is Baxter). And they show lots of people on the Jumbotron and I was determined to get on that giant TV, but it never happened. :( Next time I'm bringing a sign! :) But it was all so much fun!! And we caught a really good game too! We were losing 2-0 up until the 9th inning, when we hit two home runs and caught up! No one scored in the 10th inning, and we finally scored the winning home run at the bottom of the 11th, and the crowd went wild.. it was awesome!! I definitely want to do it again sometime!

I should also mention that I totally cheated on my diet at the game. I got a $6 Cold Stone... it was chocolate ice cream, with brownies and chocolate chips AND hot fudge... in a waffle cone. Yeah, it was bad!! But soooooo good, and so worth it! :)

The next morning Clint's parents took us to Red Lobster, where I was good in getting a Chicken Caesar salad. But I was bad in eating FOUR of those crazy delicious cheddar biscuits! Yes, four.

BUT I am proud of myself because the morning of the game, I went to the gym before leaving town. It wasn't the best work out.. I learned that I'm NOT a morning exerciser! No energy before noon, I guess! And I also worked out when we got back yesterday afternoon. Another not-to-great workout because I was so sleepy. But the fact that I went when I really wasn't in the mood (both times) makes me proud of me!

Oh, and thanks to Robin for babysitting Zoey for us! :)

Other than all that, not much has changed! I'm looking forward to weigh day Monday, hoping that I lost another 2 lbs!

Earlier I mentioned Idol.... Happy dance for Jacob going home.. FINALLY!!

I guess that's it! Till next time....
